15.5 Weeks

Kirst was out here (OR) to visit last week and we had a blast. It's great to see that she is feeling better and having more energy. She looks great!

I saw her on the weekend then she went over to Bend for a few days to visit her Mom and Dad. When she came back her belly had grown...in just a week I noticed a difference. During this gestation period the fetus is growing at a tremendous rate and it's very exciting.

I'll be back home (SC) in 3 weeks for a week break...I can't wait. I hope to get my first clinical rotation back there and be with her until she moves back to Bend. We'll keep you posted.

Cheers.

15 weeks

Hello All -

Well, quite a bit has happened since the last post. At 10 weeks I traveled to Oregon to tell my parents (Kit and Sandi) the exciting news. They were (obviously) thrilled. My mom stated in all the excitement "Are you sure?" Yes Mom, we are sure.

The next week I had my first appointment with the OB and received the first ultrasound of the baby. Truly amazing! It was kicking its little legs and moving its arms the entire time. The doctor even noted that it was very active.

For the past week I have been in Oregon to see Brad, go to an Optometry conference, and spend time with my family. It has been a great trip and wonderful to be in Oregon when it is starting to feel like Spring.

I am feeling better and have more energy everyday (Yeah!) I am barely starting to show (see pic) and all my old clothes are getting rather snug. I have another appointment with the OB next week and am looking forward to seeing how things are progressing. I am also preparing for a 5 day trip to Mexico at the end of next week for Brandon Olin's wedding (family friends). It should be a great time!

I hope all of you are doing well and we'll try to be more prompt on updating you all.

Love, Kirsten and Brad

Chocolate - no thank you!

Hello All -

I figured it is about time for me to post a blog and not let Brad do all of the talking.

Yes, I am now 7 weeks pregnant. We are both very excited although I am also nervous about all of the changes that will be occurring with my body and otherwise in the upcoming months.

So far I have been feeling pretty good - just a little nauseous and "foggy" in the morning. The biggest change I have noticed is how tired I am! I feel like I could sleep and lay around all day! Thank goodness for the Holidays so that I have been able to do a lot of resting.

The other interesting thing is food cravings. I have not wanted anything to do with chocolate or sweets (which is a huge change for me!) but love oranges, salty foods, and lasagna. Hmmm - it is strange all the changes that pregnancy brings - even so early!

That is all for now - Have a Happy New Year!

Kirsten

Week 7

Hello All -

Kirst and I had a quiet Christmas, just me, her, and Jack (our dog). Kirst is battling a little morning sickness, but remains strong. I'll let her elaborate on what she is going through. It's pretty exciting to know that this week the hands and feet are beginning to develop.

I have to fly back to OR on 01/01/08 for the start of Spring semester. I really hate leaving Kirst, but she'll be out in a few weeks to visit.

Attached are a few pics of Christmas time. Cheers.

Initial Blog

Hi All,
Last night I had the GREATEST surprise. I came home from school and found a package at the front door. I thought, that is weird I'm not expecting anything. When I opened it I found a "onesy" for a baby that said "I love my Mommy, my Daddy, and my Seminoles"...I said what the *%$@ is this. Then I saw THE card. It was from Kirst and read "We will be needing this little outfit in about 8 1/2 months. Surprise....I'M PREGNANT!!

I almost fell down. I immediately called and woke her up. We talked, but I really don't remember too much....I was still reeling from the package and news.

This is the greatest news and we are so happy. Kirst and I will try to keep family and friends updated on our 9 month marathon. Cheers.
