A Day at BBR

My parents took me on my first trip to Black Butte Ranch. It was a great Oregon summer day. We went on a long walk and saw a lot of horses. We sat out by the pool and had lunch, but I had to settle for fully organic milk. I had my photo taken with Mom and Dad at the spot where they got married five years ago. Dad snapped a few other pics for your viewing pleasure. All in all it was a great day...I think I have the coolest parents in the world. Later.

2-Week Pics

2 Weeks

CJ turned 2 weeks today.



We are all doing well and still adjusting to this new lifestyle. CJ had his 2 week doc visit yesterday. He weighed in at 6 lbs and 13 oz, which is up from his discharge weight of 6 lbs and 6 oz. This places him only in the 5th percentile for weight. The doc wants him to gain 0.5 oz a day. His length on the other hand is in the 75th percentile. He measured 21.5 inches yesterday.



We have taken him on several car rides and walks. He seems to love them because he sleeps the entire time. Jack and Sadie (pets) are doing great in this transitional phase. Jack sleeps through the night feedings and crying. Jack just wants to lick CJ all the time.

Great Scott Arrives!

Hello All,

Based on my last post I will not be going in to OB. Because Great arrived early this morning.

The details are:
Name: Christopher James "CJ" Scott (Great may hang on)
Weight: 7 lbs 2 ozs
Length: 19.25 inches
Time: 0551
Mode: c-section
1 min APGAR: 8
5 min APGAR: 10

Kirst and CJ are doing well. We had to opt for the c-section due to some fetal intolerance, which means that CJ's heartrate was dropping when Kirst had contractions and was putting him at risk. But all is good now!

Don't ask me how I know...I just know.

We have an OB appointment today and we'll see how close he is to my accurate, evidence-based data.
I'm back in Bend which is really nice. I drove straight from San Diego to Bend on Thursday night/Friday morning...14 hours.
Kirst is doing great and continues to work a few hours a day. She is sleeping well and seems to have good energy. She has a few contractions during the day and more when go for a walk.
We'll keep you all posted on any special deliveries that we receive.
